My Wish For You

I really needed to read this today. I guess what we need really does come to us when we need it, if we’re open to it.

If you’re able to read this, it means that either I’ve sent you the password or we email each other so I have your IP address to allow you access. I hated to password protect the whole site, but needs must.  A big thank you to all that gave me good advice, much love, and a listening ear today.

I wish you enough sunlight to kiss the freckles on your nose and enough darkness to show you that the stars will always guide you home.

I wish you enough laughter to deepen the lines by your eyes each and every day and enough wisdom to know that your most beautiful qualities will still be visible long after your looks fade away.

I wish you enough patience to wait for your dreams to be seen all the way through to the finish line and enough courage to realize that the timing is never going to be just right to do anything.

I wish you unforeseen mountains contained along your steady path to help you reach heights you never thought possible, and wandering eyes taking the time to notice all of the beauty contained within each footstep of the climb.

I wish you enough confidence to compel smiles to stranger, a firm handshake with a name you say proudly, and enough humility to believe that the only time you should look down on someone is when you are reaching toward them to help lift them up.

I wish you enough hope to keep you going, even on the days you’ve hit the millionth dead end, and enough clarity to look back and always take pride in how far you’ve already come.

I wish you the kindness to treat those around you exactly as you’d like to be treated, and enough backbone to close to door, burn the bridge, and break the chain when the past is doing its best to hold you back.

I wish you the stillness to hear everything the current moment is trying to tell you, from the breeze on your shoulders to the sunlight in your hair and even the dull ache in your heart reminding you that that thing still matters.

I hope you know each and every day that you matter.

I wish you enough empathy to accept the fact that nobody is perfect, and the gentleness found in forgiving yourself for the many mistakes you’ve yet to make along the way.

I wish you the strength to move mountains, the steady push to take the first step, and the innocence in accepting that sometimes it’s okay to just want to go home.

I wish you the knowledge that home is not a place on a map, but a place in your heart that you can visit any day and any time.

I wish you the vulnerability to tell those around you what you think or feel no matter how badly your voice shakes, and I wish you the bravery to always stand up for what you believe in, even if you’re standing alone.

I wish you enough loneliness to learn that hanging out with yourself isn’t such a bad thing, and enough companionship to give a daily reminder that you are never really alone.

I wish you the peace in finally deciding to love yourself (all of yourself) before ever trying to give your love away to someone else.

I wish you enough failures, mistakes, and roadblocks to help you realize the even a box of darkness contains a gift. I wish you enough storms to learn to dance in the rain, enough tears to keep your eyes from becoming hardened, and enough heartache to allow new spaces to form where more and more love will learn how to fit.

I wish you a year of as many feelings, memories, and adventures possible, but I also wish you the peace in knowing that you are already right where you’re supposed to be.

I wish you a grateful feeling in the beautiful reminder that you are simply alive.
