We arch our backs
and pour into each other,
souls seeping
through and through,
A little of me,
a little of you. These bodies are
only vessels
that contain
the vastness of ourselves,
and those we let in
through windows.When we speak
in silence,
we hear more.
When we love
in silence,
we feel more.These bodies are
only vessels
that will wear off,
and tear off,
but our beings remain
fossilized.When we exist,
knowing,
believing,
embracing,
being,
that pure truth.These bodies are
only vessels
that carry you,
they carry me
and an undying spirit,
that carries us all.Ray Iyer

Thank you for posting these beautiful poems.

Debbie, I’m so glad you’re enjoying them. I’m having a good time reading through poems finding one to post.

That’s you in the picture, isn’t it? I’d recognize that hair anywhere. You have the thickest blonde hair I’ve ever seen. Women would kill for that!
You look like the Venus in the blog header picture, just the reverse side. Your hair and skin are almost the identical color.

Yes, it’s me. It’s an old photo. Fewer scars on my back. Fewer visible scars.
Venus has red hair and I do NOT have red hair. It’s funny that you mention Birth of Venus because I have a post about it in the works. I have much bigger shoulders than Venus, just ask my mother. She always says that I have the shoulders of a football player. American football, of course. I doubt she’s heard of any other kind. π

OK, not red. Strawberry blonde at times?
Your shoulders are lovely, like the rest of you. π Had you injured your left shoulder? It’s significantly lower than the right.

Yes, it’s been injured multiple times. I think it appears more balanced now, but it’s hard to say. I don’t often see myself from that view. π
